When it comes to tax strategy for small businesses we are the best there is.  Several years ago, when we realized every small business we encountered was paying too much income tax, we developed a process to cut income tax to the legal minimum.  It has worked successfully for nearly thirty years.

We are headquartered in the high desert in Colorado's glamour belt.  There was a time when no CPA firm with clients in 40 states could headquarter in such a place.  But the advent of the internet and other modern means of communication transferring data have made it possible to work where you love.  These developments have given us the ability to provide better and more convenient service than you can get from the firm right next door.

Our firm was actually founded in a large metropolitan area.  But we soon moved to Colorado's glamour belt midway between Aspen, Vail and Telluride.  Besides the nearby great skiing, Grand Junction, CO. is situated alongside the Colorado river, surrounded by red rock canyons, the high desert, the largest flat top mountain in the world, world class mountain biking, skiing, rafting, canoeing, Lake Powell, Moab, and so on and so on.  Grand Junction's burgeoning professional community, jet service, the regional airport, an interstate highway and modern communication facilities make this a splendid central location to provide excellent responsive service to our national practice.

Founding Principal of the Firm

Robert Ellis 

Robert Ellis is the founding principal of Ellis CPA Firm PC.   He is a thought leader in tax strategy, and his experience bridges the entire spectrum of U.S. business: Big 6 CPA, Fortune 500, NASDAQ, Global bankcard, wealthy and very wealthy individuals, and private practice serving thousands of small businesses.

Arthur Andersen & Company.  Audit Staff.  The largest CPA firm in the world.

Great Western United.  Controller.  Fortune 500 Company.

Mountain States Bankcard Association.  Controller.  Global Bankcard.

Energy Minerals.  CFO.  NASDAQ energy company.

Notable clients include John King, the wealthiest man in North America, and principal of King Resources and Imperial American Resources.  This was not a well known fact about Mr. King, but but winning a big lawsuit doubled his holdings in King Resources, and his net worth   And for a short time he was the richest man in North America.  Not long after that the economy went into a tailspin, King Resources tanked, which in 1985 precipitated the largest bank failure in North America, Continental Illinois.

During Ellis' private practice experience, he founded the largest individually owned CPA firm in Colorado (since sold) and is presently at his firm in the high desert.

Notable awards include the "Citation for Excellence" for unique management techniques by a noted management guru, and the"2005 Businessman of the Year" award from the Business Advisory Council.

Hilary Ellis has been working in the financial services sector her entire adult life in payroll companies and accounting firms.  She holds advanced degrees in accounting, and her expertise is workflow management.
